Hello everyone

As we come to the end of September, I cannot believe how quickly the year has gone, time certainly is flying by but at QITE we have been achieving great results and outcomes for our clients and employers.

We have had a very successful Careers Expo in our new West End office and we are planning on another industry specific expo before the end of the year, if you wish to be involved, please call our Employment Services Area Manager Keely Sievers on 0400691769.

We are also looking at planning more Employer Meet and Greets in each office so if you have suggestions on how we can help you find staff to help your business please let us know as we are happy to assist where possible.

The Management Team is getting prepared for our Annual General Meeting which will happen at the end of October and will be held in our Head office with our Board members and Senior Managers present, this is a time to reflect on the previous financial year and where we are positioned for the upcoming financial year, thank you to everyone for your support over the last year..

We are getting very excited for our Combined Q-Day/Training/Team Building event which will happen over the 20th and 21st of November in Townsville, this is a chance to bring our teams and staff together to foster great working relationships and get to know each other better whilst having fun.

Peter's story continues with a great happy ending.

Due to personal circumstances beyond his control, Peter was homeless, had no employment history and had never attended a job interview.
Staff helped Peter find suitable housing and he attended his WFD activity and his 1-on-1 job club sessions at the Q.I.T.E. office which allowed staff to further assist him with building confidence.

Staff escorted Peter to his first job interview and started his very first job!

Peter stated he had been "struggling with my confidence, motivation and had no body in my life to help me". The staff went "above and beyond for me, supported me, helped me". "I felt lost and hopeless before but now I feel ready to work”.

As we enter 2025, NAIDOC Week marks a powerful milestone: 50 years of honoring and elevating Indigenous voices, culture, and resilience. The 2025 theme, “The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy,” celebrates not only the achievements of the past but the bright future ahead, empowered by the strength of our young leaders, the vision of our communities, and the legacy of our ancestors.

Youth Take a Stand Against Homelessness in the Burdekin
The Q.I.T.E. Ayr Office rolled up their sleeves with donations of essential items to support a great local cause raising awareness for homelessness.

The Burdekin Catholic High School (BCHS) and the Burdekin Shire Youth Council joined forces to raise awareness about rural homelessness with the
Stand Up Sleep Out – Youth Against Homelessness event, Friday 8 August 2025.

Held during National Homelessness Week (4–10 Aug), the event invited young people and community members to sleep out in solidarity with those experiencing or at risk of homelessness in the Burdekin.
